Villa Cipriani

Asolo, Italy
Overview
“Between the Piave and the Brenta, there are several rows of the most beautiful pyramid-shaped hills in Italy. The houses of Asolo spread out on the last row, topped by a tall square fortress.”
Listen Giovanni Comisso, poet and writer about Asolo
When a hotel’s history is so precious, expectations run big on arrival.
But despite this, you’ll still be blown away.
Built during the Palladian Era, the Villa underwent significant improvements in the 18th century.
In 1889, under the guidance of the new owner, the English poet Robert Browning, the Villa acquired its noble Tuscan aspect, which blends perfectly with the gentle hills of Asolo. From this moment, the connection between this quiet town and the Villa became more and more strict.
In 1962, Rupert Guinness, the second Count of Iveagh, from the famous Irish beer-producing family, purchased the property and later hired Giuseppe Cipriani – founder of Harry’s Bar in Venice – to transform it into a charming hotel: Villa Cipriani. So, the picturesque inn was transformed into the small country jewel that guests now enjoy.
In 2012, an industrialist from Treviso Massimo Zanetti purchased Villa Cipriani and, year after year, thanks to continuous con preservative restorations, contributed to maintaining the elegance, refinement, and family charm.
Villa Cipriani is the perfect destination for a holiday filled with tranquillity and wellness, where guests find an ideal balance among the elegance, hospitality, and attention to detail, in a timeless atmosphere.

The Garden
The heart of Villa Cipriani is its remarkable garden that changes colours with the seasons: invaded with tulips in April, a cascade of fragrant roses in May and gradually alternating scents, like the unforgettable olea fragrans, and colours as the months pass. The outdoor areas are carefully designed in every detail, where to rediscover the inner harmony, surrounded by a magical and romantic atmosphere.
A story of colours and fragrances accompany the guests in every season.
The garden is undoubtedly Villa Cipriani’s crowning glory, recipient of the Top 10 Magnificent Gardens award from Historic Hotels Worldwide and included in the American Horticultural Society’s Garden of Excellence circuit since the middle of the nineties.

Magnificent Pool
The hotel guests will relax in the panoramic infinity pool nestled in the green garden, winner of the Best Italian Outdoor Hotel Pool at the Italian Pool Awards in 2014.

Asolo & Villa Cipriani
Asolo & Villa Cipriani

Asolo and Villa Ciprini walk together. Acelum ( Asolo) was mentioned for the first time, under the name Acelum, in 77 CE by Pliny the Elder in his Naturalis Historia as one of the largest colonies in the tenth Augustan region, Venetia et Histria... from that moment, it's a long and intriguing story.

Staying In Asolo
Asolo was, and still is, a place that is particularly appreciated and dear to artists and people of culture and was a holiday resort for travellers and intellectuals in the nineteenth and most of the twentieth century: Robert Browning, Eleonora Duse, Gian Francesco Malipiero, and Freya Stark. The poet Giosuè Carducci called it “the City with a hundred horizons.”
In 2002, Asolo became one of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy
