MyTale Creative Academy Hotel

Rome, Italy
Overview
Art, history and colour are the hallmarks of this small boutique hotel situated in the heart of Rome’s Monti neighbourhood, with the best of the city within strolling distance. Guests are spoiled with great food, fabulous cocktails, and a charming rooftop terrace.
MyTale is a new 4-star boutique hotel in the heart of the Monti neighbourhood, right behind the Forum of Augustus. It occupies four floors of an early 20th-century building where interiors are a reflection of its unique location: vibrant, eclectic, and full of character. Major landmarks like the Trevi Fountain and the Coliseum are a 15-minute walk away.

The hotel’s imaginative design is an emotional journey through Rome’s history, from the grandeur of Imperial times to the city’s contemporary spirit, with a look into the future from the rooftop terrace. This stylistic choice is particularly evident in the exclusive “art carpets” realised by the artist Patrizia Marrocco, which are used across all rooms and depict some of the city’s most iconic monuments and artworks.

The hotel is also home to a creative academy that offers exhibitions, meetings, and courses of personal growth through art.

Food & Drinks
Sala Thais, the hotel’s restaurant, serves breakfast and dinner in an elegant space inspired by the futurist aesthetic of Anton Giulio Bragaglia’s iconic silent movie, from which it takes its name. The menu revolves around Mediterranean dishes blending tradition and innovation and changing seasonally.

The rooftop cocktail bar Dioniso is a beautiful place to enjoy cocktails and nibbles while soaking in the views across Monti. There is another wonderful bar downstairs in the lobby area, the DrinkLab, with design features drawing inspiration from Enrico Prampolini’s scenography art, between futurism and metaphysics.

Across all three locations, the drink menus include sophisticated cocktails mixing ingredients from around the Mediterranean, from north African spices to Sicilian citrus fruits.

Rooms

The hotel offers 12 modern and spacious suites. Bold colour palettes, subtle lighting, and supremely comfortable beds sum up the decor, which is the work of major Italian interior designers.

The marble bathrooms have spacious showers and are stocked with luxurious toiletries by Ortigia Aluminium, beauty kits, and soft chenille bathrobes. Those in the higher categories also feature a wellness area with Hammam and emotional showers. All rooms come with a free smartphone that guests can use throughout their stay. They are also furnished with kettles, coffee machines, minibars, and TVs with satellite channels.

For those looking for more privacy and flexibility, the hotel also offers three stylish apartments in strategic locations within the city centre, whose concept is always linked to art and culture.

Chilling out with a drink at Dioniso, the hotel’s rooftop lounge, against a stunning backdrop of the roofs and domes of the Monti neighbourhood, is undoubtedly one of the highlights of a stay at MyTale. It offers a peaceful respite above the bustling Roman streets and the cocktail menu is a journey through the Mediterranean.

Staying In Rome
Monti is the oldest neighbourhood in Rome. It was the crowded lower-class district where most Romans originally lived and was evocatively called Suburra (literally, “under city”). Today, it’s a vibrant residential area with atmospheric cobbled streets full of small businesses and art galleries, along with prominent sites like the Colosseum and one of Rome’s four papal basilicas. Monti is within easy walking distance of other major attractions and is served by the Cavour metro station (Line B).
